The dream of an education centre began long before this all began, in fact, it was Trustee and Founder Peter Jones’ dream to create an educational facility that is accessible for local students to motivate them outside of the classroom and stimulate passions for technology and engineering, inspiring future careers.
As an engineer who began his career as an apprentice, learning in a hands-on environment was the pathway to his career in a high-tech workplace. Also, becoming a father to 3 children and the inevitable construction kits and numerous Apple devices later his love for technology and the latest gadgets inspired the idea for the Eden Education Centre. However, it didn’t happen over night. In August 2012 The Eden Centre soft play centre, party venue and coffee shop opened its doors, and after just over a year of business the Eden Centre was awarded best play centre in Wales by the website Netmums but this was only half the dream.
The Eden Education Centre (Registered Charity Number 1154289) opened in early 2014, supporting local schools, providing workshops with LEGO® Education and facilitating conferencing and training facilities for local businesses and educational networks. The Eden Education Centre is an exciting asset to the surrounding community, a flagship centre for LEGO® Education which prides itself on its fresh, creative thinking, combined with cutting-edge technology, encouraging students by developing progression routes into education and into the workplace.
